It has been five months since we suspended our training. This is the longest layoff that I have experienced since I started practicing Aikido. March 31 marked the forty-fifth anniversary of my first class. I had been hoping to celebrate it with a vigorous but mindful workout at the dojo. Sadly, such was not the case. Of course, far more important matters have been affected in all of our lives. More than ever we need to be patient, thoughtful of others, and disciplined. But that is all part of being on the Aikido path.
